Details

The extended warranty from your credit card will kick in after the manufacturer's warranty expires and generally matches the protection provided by the original manufacturer’s warranty. The item will either be repaired or replaced -- or you'll be reimbursed for the purchase price. Coverage tends to be $10,000 per item, up to $50,000 per account per year. If you are buying a high ticket item, this is worth noting, especially if you were considering buying the extended insurance. The (+) cards include warranty extended 2 years. The (-) only cover original warranties of 3 years or less.
