Some of the best travel cards will give you a $100 to $325 credit statement on airline tickets, hotels and car rentals. That means your annual fee is -- in effect -- reduced by your travel credit. So a $550 annual fee on a card that gives you $300 back is a net of $250 for an annual fee. The multipliers and benefits may very well offset the $250.
