Quick Summary

You cannot earn a new card bonus if you have received a bonus from the same Southwest business card within the last 24 months

Understanding the SW Biz 1/24 rule:

This rule is slightly different from the Southwest Personal 1/24 rule. There are two Southwest Business cards offered, and while you cannot get the signup bonus twice from the same card until 24 months have passed, you are allowed to earn the bonus from BOTH cards within the 24 months.

The rule for the three personal cards states that you can only earn ONE signup bonus from ANY of the three personal cards in 24 months.

Important to know:

Southwest has two business cards backed by Chase, which are:

  • Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Business
  • Southwest Rapid Rewards Performance Business

Let’s take a look at the language for the Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Business card:

The above rule applies to each business card individually, but unlike the personal cards, you are eligible for the signup bonuses on BOTH of the Southwest Business cards at once. This means that you can apply for and receive the signup bonus for one of the above personal cards, but no more than one, and both of the above Business cards. You just can’t receive the signup bonus for the same business card until 24 months have passed.

About Approval Rules

Collecting credit card points is largely driven by understanding and abiding by bank rules regarding approval (or disapproval) of cards.  So here’s what you need to know:

  • Approval rules are rarely fully publicized by the banks
  • We use our own research and data points from other users in creating the rules listing
  • Our goal in sharing/using the rule listings is to provide you guidance to avoid getting declined
  • There can sometimes be exceptions to the rules, but we try to take a more cautious approach in advising you.
