IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card Review
Key Takeaways
The IHG One Rewards Premier Business Card is a great long-term value for small business owners, especially those who stay at IHG properties at lease once a year. The free anniversary night (worth up to 40,000 points) alone justifies the $99 annual fee. With a 140,000-point sign-up bonus, Platinum Elite status, and unlimited 4th night free on award stays, the card delivers consistent rewards and flexibility. It also won’t count against your Chase 5/24 status, making it a smart choice for points enthusiasts managing their application strategy. The strong earning categories, including travel, dining, gas, and digital ad spend, make it easy to rack up points through everyday business expenses.
Why This Card Could Be Right For You
If you’re looking to diversify beyond Chase, Amex, and Capital One, and want a hotel-specific card, IHG is a solid choice. To start, you get a 140,000-point sign-up bonus (we’ve seen it as high as 200,000) with a reasonable $4,000 spend in the first 3 months. Also, the $99 annual fee is easily offset by the free anniversary night (worth up to 40,000 points). And IHG gives you even more love with its "4th night free" on award stays: Book for four consecutive nights, and the 4th night is free!" It's unlimited use and stackable, meaning an 8-night stay would get you 2 free nights. Here are a few more reasons you might want this card:
- Platinum Elite status, as long as you hold the card.
- Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS statement credit.
- No impact on Chase 5/24 status, making it a great business card for those nearing their limit.
- Strong spending categories:
- 5x points on travel, gas, dining, social media/search engine advertising, and office supply stores.
When The Usual Advice Doesn't Apply
This card might not be a good fit if you never stay at IHG properties, making the free night benefit useless.

What to Know About IHG Rewards
IHG is our “utility” hotel points system. If you just need a night or two, and aren’t looking for glitz and glamor, IHG points go a long way.
- The IHG brand consists mostly of Holiday Inns. So they are in nearly every small town or international city you might want to stay. We use it as the Hyatt’s “not there” filler.
- The generous sign-up bonuses (especially if you wait for a special offer) will cover 6-8 nights per card.
- IHG is part of the Chase partner rewards system, but the transfer value is poor, so we don’t recommend transferring anything more than a few thousand points to top off your balance for a stay.
How The IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card Fits In The IHG Rewards Ecosystem
The IHG One Rewards Premier Business card is nearly identical to the personal Premier card, but it won’t count against Chase’s 5/24 limit, making it a great option for those nearing their 5/24 cap.
If you don’t qualify for a business card, IHG offers two personal card options:
- IHG One Rewards Club Premier ($99 annual fee) You'll get a 140,000-point sign-up bonus on a $3,000-spend in 3 months. You also get a free anniversary night each year (up to 40k points). Plus you're eligible for the "4th night free on award" stays. Finally, it comes with Platinum Elite status.
- IHG One Rewards Traveler (No annual fee). You'll get a 80,000-point sign-up bonus on a $2,000-spend in 3 months). But there is no free anniversary night, and no "4th night free" perk.
If you don’t plan to keep the card long-term, the Traveler card seems like a better option. However, we recommend getting the Premier for the higher sign-up bonus and free night, then downgrading to the Traveler after the first year if needed.
If you’re near Chase’s 5/24 limit, the IHG One Rewards Premier Business card is a better option, as it won’t count against 5/24 but still offers all the same benefits as the personal Premier card.
My Experience, No Filter
For us, this business card was a no-brainer. The solid sing-up bonus and the free anniversary night alone made it worth adding. And the 4th night free on award stays gave us even more value. Plus, its business classification makes it a great 5/24 workaround for Chase enthusiasts. We've used this card and IGH points plenty of times when we couldn't find a Hyatt close by.
