Chase Ink Business Cash Credit Card Review

Key Takeaways

With no annual fee, a strong 75,000 (current special 100,000) point signup bonus after spending $6,000 (currently $8,000) in the first 4 months, and some of the best bonus categories offered on any business card, the Chase Ink Business Cash delivers tremendous value. Because of the Chase Ink No Fee Lifetime Rule, it can make sense to wait for an elevated offer, since you can only earn the welcome offer on either this card or the Ink Business Unlimited once between the two cards. The Ink Cash becomes especially valuable when paired with a Chase card that unlocks airline and hotel transfer partners, and like all Chase business cards, it does not add to your 5/24 count.

Why This Card Could Be Right For You

The Chase Ink Business Cash is ideal for business owners who spend heavily in a few common categories, especially when paired with one of the Chase cards that unlocks transfers to airline and hotel partners.

This card offers:

  • 75,000 (current special 100,000) points after spending $6,000 (currently $8,000) in the first 3 months
  • 5x points on the first $25,000 spent annually at office supply stores and on internet, cable, and phone services
  • 2x points on the first $25,000 spent annually at gas stations and restaurants
  • 1x points on all other purchases
  • Use the 5x category at office supply stores to purchase gift cards, creating easy opportunities to boost rewards on everyday spending
  • Get 3 months of Instacart+ and up to $20 per month in Instacart credits

Although the card is technically marketed as “cash back,” the rewards can become Chase Ultimate Rewards points when moved to an eligible Chase card with transfer partner access. That is where the highest redemption value comes from.

When The Usual Advice Doesn't Apply

Here are some exceptions where the card might not be a good fit:

  • You’re holding out for a higher signup bonus
  • The bonus categories don’t align with your business spending
  • You don’t have a Chase card that unlocks Ultimate Rewards transfers to airline and hotel partners

What to Know About Chase Ultimate Rewards

Chase Ultimate Rewards offers versatility, flexible redemption options, and a strong lineup of travel partners.

  • Transferring to Chase's airline and hotel partners is the option we most recommend to get the best value from your Ultimate Rewards points.
  • Hyatt, United, Southwest, and Air Canada are among Chase's most valuable transfer partners.
  • You can also book travel directly through Chase Travel, including flights, hotels, rental cars, cruises, and more.
  • If you have one of Chase's Sapphire Reserve cards, you can take advantage of Points Boost for better redemptions through the portal.
  • While Ultimate Rewards remain highly valuable, Chase now limits how often you can earn welcome bonuses on many of its most popular cards.

How The Chase Ink Business Cash Credit Card Fits In The Chase Ultimate Rewards Ecosystem

The Ink Business Cash is one of two no-annual-fee Ink business cards. Because of Chase's bonus eligibility rules, you'll eventually have to choose between it and the Ink Business Unlimited. The right choice depends on your business spending patterns and your overall Chase Ultimate Rewards strategy.

  • Ink Cash vs. Ink Unlimited: The Ink Business Cash rewards category spending, while the Ink Business Unlimited earns a flat rate on every purchase.
    • Strategy: Under the Chase Ink No Fee Lifetime Rule, you can only earn the welcome bonus on one of these cards once per lifetime. Since both currently offer the same welcome offer, choose the card that best matches your long-term spending.
  • Unlocking transfer partners: Rewards earned on the Ink Business Cash can be moved to an eligible Chase card, where they become transferable Ultimate Rewards points.
  • 5/24 strategy: Like all Chase business cards, the Ink Business Cash does not add to your 5/24 count, making it an excellent way to continue earning Ultimate Rewards points without affecting future personal card approvals.

My Experience, No Filter

This was the first business card we applied for after getting into the hobby - and we almost didn’t go for it because we didn’t think we had a “real” business. But using a side hustle like selling items on Marketplace qualified us, and we were approved quickly. We got in during an elevated 90,000-point bonus and paired that with a 20,000-point referral bonus between spouses for a quick 110,000-point haul.

We then transferred those points to our Chase Sapphire Reserve card, instantly increasing their value and unlocking travel partner transfers. The Ink Business Cash became a cornerstone of our points strategy, helping us grow our Ultimate Rewards bank while staying under 5/24. It’s one of the smartest plays out there for small business owners.
