This card offers exceptional value through its Companion Fare and generous welcome bonus. Most valuable for frequent Alaska flyers, this card provides diminishing returns after the first year unless you regularly fly with the airline.

Atmos Rewards Visa Business Credit Card Review

Key Takeaways

The most valuable benefit of the Alaska Airlines Business Credit Card is the $99 Companion Fare. After approval and spending $5,000 in the first three months, you'll receive 60,000 (current special 85,000) miles* and the Companion Fare for a low $70 annual fee. This offers exceptional value for frequent Alaska Airlines travelers or those planning to fly with the airline in the coming year.

Why This Card Could Be Right For You

After spending $5,000 on the card within the first 90 days, you receive 60,000 (current special 85,000) points and the $99 Companion Fare (plus taxes and fees from $23). This benefit allows another person to fly anywhere on Alaska-operated flights for $122 total. This perk alone can save hundreds of dollars when used effectively.

To continue earning the Companion Fare, you must spend $6,000 annually. Since you have to spend $5,000 to earn the signup bonus the first year, it may be worth it to spend an extra $1,000 to earn it again the second year. After that, we don't recommend allocating that much spending just for one benefit, as you could potentially earn more value from welcome offers on new cards.

The Atmos Rewards Visa Business card has a low $70 annual fee, so if you fly on the airline even once or twice per year, it may be worth it to keep in your wallet.

Additional benefits include:

  • One complimentary checked bag for up to 6 people on the same reservation (a $70 per person per roundtrip value)
  • Priority boarding
  • Competitive spending multipliers
  • 20% back on inflight purchases made with this card
  • $100 discount on Alaska Lounge+ Membership (which normally costs $795)
  • As a business card, it won't count toward your Chase 5/24 status

Alaska merged with Hawaiian Airlines in 2024, and they merged their loyalty programs into Atmos Rewards in 2025. So all points you earn with this card can be used on all Alaska and Hawaiian flights. You can also get value out of Atmos points by using them to fly internationally on one of their oneworld Alliance partner airlines. Some partners, like Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong, offer free stopovers, essentially providing an extra flight at no additional cost.

When The Usual Advice Doesn't Apply

This card might not be ideal if:

  • You don't live in a city with many Alaska Airlines flights
  • You typically travel alone, making the Companion Fare less valuable

What to Know About Atmos Rewards

Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines have some great sweet spots, but understanding their award charts is key.

  • A key factor in their value is whether either airline flies from your home airport.
  • Alaska often has the best pricing available for international business class. Using an award search tool will help maximize.
  • Their award chart also allows for some great finds on short-haul domestic flights.
  • The one downfall of the program is that only Bilt and Marriott are transfer partners, making collecting points or topping up more difficult
  • One-way award tickets with a stopover allows you to visit two destinations for the price of one.

How The Atmos Rewards Visa Business Credit Card Fits In The Atmos Rewards Ecosystem

The Atmos Rewards Visa Business Card is the only co-branded business card offered by Alaska Airlines. They also offer two personal cards, the Atmos Rewards Ascent Visa Signature card and the Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite card. The Ascent has an identical signup bonus (the spend to get the bonus on the business card is $1000 higher) and nearly the same benefits, and you are allowed to get both.

The Summit card is the premium card offered by the airline. It has a 80,000 point signup bonus along with a 25,000 point Global Companion Award. Cardmembers also receive the 25k point Global Companion Award annually as part of the card benefits. There are a variety of other benefits for this card, like 8 passes to the Alaska Lounge (though they are broken up into 2 per quarter), a free checked bag, and preferred boarding for the cardholder and up to 6 companions.
