JetBlue Credit Card Review

Key Takeaways

We consider the JetBlue Credit Card a poor use of one of your 5/24 spots, placing it near the bottom of our recommended cards. Its sign‑up bonus is just 10,000 TrueBlue miles, which won’t get you far on its own. As a no‑annual‑fee co‑branded card, it offers minimal tangible benefits. Only New York City residents who fly JetBlue at least once per year should even consider it — and even then, there are better options available.

Why This Card Could Be Right For You

Although we generally don’t recommend it, here are its key features:

  • No annual fee
  • 10,000 bonus TrueBlue points after spending $1,000 within 90 days of account opening
  • Two points per dollar at restaurants and grocery stores
  • Three points per dollar on eligible JetBlue purchases
  • 50% savings on inflight food and beverage purchases on JetBlue‑operated flights
  • One Mosaic tile per $1,000 spent toward Mosaic status (the lowest tier requires 50 tiles)

When The Usual Advice Doesn't Apply

These are situations where the JetBlue Credit Card might still make sense:

  • You want a larger sign‑up bonus and more perks, and you’re willing to pay an annual fee to get them.
  • You’re seasoned with co‑branded cards and don’t want to waste a 5/24 spot on a card that offers a small welcome bonus and few benefits — even if it has no annual fee.

What to Know About JetBlue TrueBlue

JetBlue is particularly attractive if you live in New York City and it’s a convenient hub to your frequent destinations.

  • More limited routes that all run through one hub make it a less attractive utility airline option than American or Southwest.
  • Points are relatively easy to collect with good transfer options and a nice airline. We just hate layovers.

How The JetBlue Credit Card Fits In The JetBlue TrueBlue Ecosystem

This entry‑level card is best reserved for very occasional JetBlue flyers in New York City who need a no‑annual‑fee option and are willing to accept limited rewards. JetBlue offers two other personal cards and one business card. Here’s how they stack up:

  • JetBlue Plus Credit Card ($99 annual fee)
    • 60,000-point sign‑up bonus after $1,000 in purchases within three months
    • Two points per dollar at restaurants and grocery stores
    • Six points per dollar on JetBlue purchases
    • 5,000‑point anniversary bonus
    • Free first checked bag for you and up to three companions
    • $100 statement credit after purchasing a JetBlue vacation package
  • JetBlue Premier Card ($499 annual fee)
    • 60,000‑point sign‑up bonus
    • Five Mosaic tiles after $5,000 in purchases within 90 days
    • Same earning rates and 5,000‑point anniversary bonus as the Plus Card
    • Group A boarding on JetBlue‑operated flights
    • Up to $300 in statement credits on Paisly purchases each calendar year
  • JetBlue Business Card ($99 annual fee)
    • Mirrors the Plus Card’s benefits, including a 60,000‑point sign‑up bonus and earning rates
    • Includes Group A boarding
    • Does not count toward your 5/24 total
