Key Takeaways
EVA Air Infinity MileageLands is geared towards premium class passengers:
- You can find excellent redemptions on business class flights to Asia.
- EVA is part of Star Alliance, giving members access to partners like United, Air Canada, ANA, and Singapore Airlines.
- Lack of co-branded cards and only a couple of credit card transfer partners hurts its popularity.
- The award booking process can be frustrating and tedious, especially for multiple passengers.

The easiest way to earn Infinity MileageLands miles is by flying on EVA Air or one of its Star Alliance partners. EVA Air also partners with Citi and Capital One, so miles earned with those programs can be transferred.
Earn by Flying EVA Air
Customers can earn miles by booking an EVA Air or UNI Air flight operated by EVA/UNI Air:
If you hold elite status, you will earn additional bonuses on top of the base rates:
- Diamond and Gold: 25% Tier Bonus
- Silver: 15% Tier Bonus
Earn by Opening Transferable Miles Cards
Capital One and Citi both transfer to EVA Air:
- Citi: Transfers at a 1:1 ratio.
- Capital One: Transfers at 2:1.5 (1000 Capital One miles = 750 EVA miles). Avoid transferring from Capital One unless you need a small top-up.
Flying with Partners (alliance and non-alliance partners)
EVA Air is part of Star Alliance, which means you can earn EVA miles when flying with any Star Alliance partner. Earning rates vary by airline and booking class. Each partner has its own award chart. Go here and click on each partner to see specific earning rates.

How to Redeem Miles
Redeeming for Airfare
Redeeming miles for airfare with EVA or a partner is the best way to use your Infinity MileageLands miles. EVA uses a mileage chart to determine award pricing (for round-trip fares). You can find those charts here.
EVA also uses an award chart for all partner flights on Star Alliance carriers. You can find that chart here.
Unfortunately, that’s where the easy part ends. Searching for award flights on EVA can be frustrating, especially when you’re trying to book travel for more than one passenger.
Our friends at Frequent Miler have written a detailed post on how to search for and book EVA Air flights. We recommend following their guide when searching. Even then, in our experience, it only works about half the time.
Most people, even experts in the points and miles world, won’t search or redeem flights with EVA Air. The process is incredibly frustrating, even for the most seasoned person in the hobby. But if you have the wherewithal to get through the process, there are some great sweet spots to be had.
Hotel stays, Car rentals, and Other Redemption Options
You can also redeem your EVA Air Infinity MileageLands miles for purchases on the EVA Sky Shop or for travel e-coupons and hotel accommodation vouchers. These options offer far less value than booking award flights with EVA or a partner, so we recommend avoiding them.

Booking Tips
EVA Air allows one stopover per round trip flight when booking award travel. You are only able to do this on long haul itineraries (including Europe, America, or Oceania). You need to call to book a stopover as it can not be done online. To make things go smoother, it’s advised to confirm space on all the flights you want and have dates and flight numbers ready when you call
If you book an award ticket on a partner through EVA Air, you are allowed TWO stopovers, so you could see 4 different cities on a round trip flight. You will not be charged extra for either stopover - it will still be the same cost as a round trip flight
Searching and booking award flights on EVA is frustrating. When you have more than one passenger, it's even worse. BUT space is plentiful and prices are great, so it's worth it in the end
Changing your flight with EVA Air (Infinity MileageLands)
- $50 fee for routing changes
- If you hold Silver status or above, there is no change fee for award flights
Canceling your flight with EVA Air (Infinity MileageLands)
- $50 fee for canceling an award flight
- If you hold Silver status or above, there is no cancellation fee for award flights
Who is it best for?
If you travel to and from Asia often and prioritize premium cabins, EVA Air is a strong program to consider. It’s especially valuable if you travel solo, since searching and booking for one person is far easier. Business class redemptions are competitive with other programs, and award availability is better than most.
Availability is likely so good because the search and booking process is notoriously frustrating. It truly requires patience, but the payoff can be excellent. You can secure a superior business class product with wide-open availability on many routes. Adding a free stopover to a round trip award makes it even more appealing.
While EVA is part of Star Alliance and uses award charts across the board, partner bookings can be even more difficult. There are some sweet spots, and you can add two free stopovers on a round trip partner award, but the time and frustration involved may outweigh the benefits. EVA has no co-branded U.S. credit cards, but you can top up miles with transfers from Citi and Capital One.
