American Express is targeting certain cardholders with an Amex Offer to earn 20,000 Hilton Honors points after spending at least $200 on eligible Hilton stays in the United States. This an excellent offer if you're targeted and were planning a cash stay at a Hilton that falles within the required time period. Other cardholders are reporting an offer for 15,000 points after spending $400. Both offers are limited to participating Hilton properties in the U.S. and U.S. territories, with qualifying purchases required by December 31, 2026. Book directly through Hilton.com and pay with your enrolled Amex card. These offers can potentially stack with Hilton co-branded card benefits, including the Aspire's semiannual resort credit and the Surpass's quarterly Hilton credit, as well as with Hilton's targeted 10,000-point bonus for three-night stays and its global promotion offering 1,000 or 3,000 bonus points per stay, depending on the property. Check your Amex Offers to see if you're eligible.

Citi has reportedly introduced a welcome bonus eligibility pop-up for applicants of its Strata credit cards, similar to warnings already used by Amex and Chase. The pop-up warns applicants if they're eligible to open the card but aren't eligible to receive its welcome bonus, giving them an opportunity to withdraw their application before proceeding. While we don't like Citi's recent introduction of lifetime welcome bonus restrictions on the Strata Premier and Strata Elite cards, the added transparency is a welcome improvement. It should help applicants avoid opening a card only to discover afterward that they won't receive the bonus. Keep in mind that the pop-up is newly reported, so it's not yet clear whether it appears consistently for all ineligible applicants.

Capital One Business Travel has a great targeted offer for certain cardholders. Receive $200 off a hotel stay or rental car booking of $500 or more through the Capital One travel portal. That's a 40% discount if you spend exactly $500, and the spending requirement includes taxes and fees. You must book by December 31, 2026, and the offer is limited to one booking per account. Be aware that if you cancel your reservation, you won't get the $200 discount back to use again. This is an excellent offer if you're targeted. Check your Capital One Business Travel account to see if you're eligible, as Capital One doesn't always notify cardholders about available offers.

Hilton Honors is offering a 120% bonus when purchasing at least 5,000 points, bringing the cost down to a record-low 0.45¢ per point. That's better than Hilton's usual 100% bonus, which brings the price to 0.5¢ each. The offer runs through November 21, 2026, and members can purchase up to 240,000 points per calendar year before bonuses. We value Hilton points at around 0.5¢ each, so this could be a decent opportunity to save on an upcoming award stay, particularly if you can take advantage of Hilton's fifth-night-free benefit. As always, we recommend checking award availability and comparing the cost against cash rates before purchasing points rather than buying speculatively.

American Express has announced four major Centurion Lounge updates, including new lounges and significant expansions at existing locations. One of those expansions will require a closure lasting more than a year. The long-awaited Newark (EWR) lounge has been delayed until 2027, but it will now span more than 30,000 square feet, making it the largest Centurion Lounge in the network. London Heathrow (LHR) will get a second lounge in Terminal 5 in 2028, joining the existing Terminal 3 location. The Houston (IAH) lounge will nearly triple in size to more than 23,000 square feet by 2028, while Philadelphia (PHL) will almost double to 12,000 square feet across two stories. The Philadelphia lounge will close beginning October 16, 2026, for renovations and is expected to reopen by the end of 2027. These are welcome improvements to a lounge network that has struggled with overcrowding, although travelers at Philadelphia will face a lengthy closure before seeing the benefits. Cards offering complimentary Centurion Lounge access include the American Express Platinum Card, Business Platinum Card, Delta SkyMiles Reserve, and Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business. Delta Reserve cardholders must be flying on a same-day Delta-marketed or Delta-operated flight booked with a U.S.-issued American Express charge or credit card to gain access.
